Celtic are yet to make their mark in the January window, despite Neil Lennon keen on bringing in an experienced centre-back and a winger.

And it seems as if it could also be a quiet end to the month in terms of signings due to the club’s plans to shake things up off the field.

That’s according to Football Insider, who suggests there is major doubt over whether there will be any senior winter window signings.

The report claims that the club’s plans to sign Exeter City winger Joel Randall ‘is now on the backburner’.

Pre-contract deals for Preston centre-back Ben Davies and midfielder Ben Pearson may also be off, with the report suggesting that the Hoops ‘may look to start with a clean slate going into the summer’.

It doesn’t look like the club will be giving Lennon what he wants in a winger and an experienced centre-back this month.

Of course, that’s not ideal for the Northern Irishman, and to us, that may mean his time at Parkhead could come to an end over the coming months.

If they plan to back Lennon for the long-term, it would make sense to back him with signings looking to the future in the form of Randall.

However, with no incomings now possibly until the summer, maybe Hoops chiefs are looking at a new leader in the Celtic Park dugout.
